Shiba San gives ghetto funk a good name, but it comes from a deep background in hip hop and balancing that with a futuristic house obsession. He’s headlined clubs and festivals (EDC, Movement Detroit, TomorrowWorld & WeAre FSTVL) around Europe and The US, and this November you might know why firsthand.
In the tenth instalment of The Deep End with Moonbeats Asia, he brings two consecutive wins of the Best Underground Track Award – namely OKAY (2014) and Burn Like Fire (2015) – to Zouk’s Velvet Underground before stopping by Black Market in The Philippines. Think dark, rumbly droning that would hit harder if not for a bouncy bed of funk and trippy voices cutting in.
The Deep End #10 with Shiba San and Zushan happens on 19 November from 11pm onwards at Velvet Underground, Zouk Singapore. Hit up the official Facebook event page for more details.
For complimentary entry before midnight, sign up here to get on the guestlist. Admission is $28/$33 (inclusive of 2 drinks) otherwise.
