uzairsawal of provides a guest mix of soul, R&B and reggae for the first WireVision Mixshow of 2021. The DJ and cultural activist based in Kuala Lumpur is also the founder of Public School KL collective, music-focused community space fono, and now-defunct bass-heavy night Ronggeng Sound System.
Refusing to be pigeonholed, uzairsawal pushes boundaries with his eclectic selection and interweaves different musical styles from all over the world. When approached by Nez Senja to submit a guest mix for WireVision, he was listening to Roberta Flack’s Feel Like Makin’ Love and it kinda just spiralled from there. Lo and behold, 50 minutes of music for you to make love to.
Nez Senja closes out the show with a selection of mostly vocal tracks in a variety of styles from soul, jazz, funk, disco, dnb to rap-hip hop, starting from the 52min20sec mark. Enjoy!
