Our Labor Day (or rather, Night) could not have been better spent than alongside fellow unorthodox film junkies, with beer in hand and fork in brownie.
Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar housed a preview of the 12 short films to be shown at the internationally-acclaimed Design Film Festival ’13 this May. This year’s festival encompasses a plethora of themes such as fashion, technology, advertising and urban planning – all of which, of course, fall under the broad umbrella term of Design.
The preview was in the form of 12 captivating trailers projected on loop in the al fresco area. It was sublime – We guarantee that you, too, will be wracking your brains over which film to catch over the precious weekend.
This could be our only chance to witness the unfolding of the Comic-Con culture, the correlation between human behaviour and the expansion of megacities, Marina Abramovic’s revolutionary art (what exactly did Björk see?! We doubt this) and the inner workings of photographer Gregory Crewdson’s meticulous mind.
Consider buying a patron pass, perhaps?
