It’s been a revolutionary four days with Music Matters Live with HP, and we want to share it with you this Mixtape Monday. Hit play for some of the best and most notable tunes we caught, and scroll down for the tracklist!
We have to admit nothing comes close to standing before the stage – whether at the grand open fountain square or in a cosy, ambient bar at Clark Quay – swaying along with a congregation of hardcore fans and those who had wandered in out of curiosity of the alluring cacophony. Our only regret was not having clones to attend different gigs simultaneously.
It is highly unlikely that any other festival is going to bring together over 60 bands from 18 different countries (Australia, Taiwan, Canada, India, Korea, Malaysia etc.) right here in Singapore’s most vibrant nightlife hubs anytime soon. Our favourite international musicians who played and we managed to hear are Dualist Inquiry, Jaurim, Empra, The Stonewolf Band, Sidney York and Jpnsgrls. Not only that, remarkable local finds including wyd:syd, Take Two, The Sam Willows, Sezairi, Gentle Bones, Gareth Fernandez and sub:shaman were discovered and rediscovered here.
With sneak peeks into EPs yet to be released, collabs waiting to happen and upcoming live shows to play at, it couldn’t be more apt to say that we are living in majorly exciting times.
