In a time where women are feeling more empowered to be upfront about anything and everything, the first trailer of Ocean’s 8 sums it all up.
The intelligence of using an all-female cast of dramatic actresses (mostly over 40) and pop superstardom across diversity is pure genius.
The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when a group of women team up to plan and execute the ultimate heist in New York.
Oscar winner Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side”) stars in the title role, alongside Oscar winners Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine”) and Anne Hathaway (“Les Misérables”); Richard Armitage (“Berlin Station”), Mindy Kaling (“Inside Out”); Awkwafina (“Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising”); Sarah Paulson (“Carol”), James Corden (“Into the Woods”), with Rihanna (“Annie”) and Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech”). The film is directed by Oscar nominee Gary Ross (“Seabiscuit,” “The Hunger Games”).
Ross directed “Ocean’s 8” from a screenplay he cowrote with Olivia Milch (“Dude”), story by Ross. Steven Soderbergh and Susan Ekins produced the film, with Michael Tadross, Sandra Bullock, Diana Alvarez and Bruce Berman executive producing, and Milch co-producing.
Ross’s behind-the-scenes team included director of photography Eigil Bryld (“In Bruges”), production designer Alex DiGerlando (“Beasts of the Southern Wild”), Oscar-nominated editor Juliette Welfling (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”), costume designer Sarah Edwards (“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”), and Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Britell (“Moonlight”).
Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, the action adventure “Ocean’s 8.”
Filmed on location in and around New York City, “Ocean’s 8” set for release in June 2018.
