The Joo Chiat area gets flipped up again with the Matteblacc group of DJs bringing the bap and funk oozing with style to Choice Cuts. The last edition saw Bomber Selecta from Thailand bring a party vibe to the Katong area record store, and this edition on the eve of Good Friday will be dishing out the same vibes through skillful turntablism. Friday19TH April – Klub Go-Yong presents Akid Amir EP Launch – From 10.30PM To 2.30AM
Singaporean Malay vocalist Akid Amir debuts his EP with an event launch at The Intermission Bar. The EP tilted Ikhlas Untuk Semua Wanita, which means ‘Sincerely For All The Ladies’ contains the track Wanita on preview on Bandcamp, with the full release available for purchase on 19th April 2019. The launch party on the same evening will include performances by beat bopping rappers Mediocre Haircut Crew, as well as DJ sets by William J, CT Selecta from Public School KL, Bongomann, Vinylheavy, The Professional, and DJ RTJ of Revision Music. Drop in to the foyer of The Projector for Malay-centric soulful sounds from some stellar cultural music influencers of the region.
